Granny Gigs

For the young and young at heart

Our History

Granny Gigs has been providing interactive, fun-filled entertainment for 25 years! Created by mom and teacher, Sally Davis, in 1992, Granny Gigs brings characters to life through stories, music, dance, and play.  Using audience participation, our programs are designed to encourage multi-facited learning while providing an engaging environment.  We have had the pleasure of presenting at over 100 venues in the Greater Boston area.
See below for a partial list of past venues.

Our Entertainers

Sally Davis

Sally Davis is the charismatic founder and artistic director of Granny Gigs. After 25 years in teaching and admistrative roles in Boston, Newton and Brookline early childhood programs, Sally turned her creative energy and unmitigated enthusiasm to the expressive arts with her company, Herd the News. Sally quickly gained popularity throughout the Greater Boston area though her interactive programs and characters of Mother Goose, Country Granny, and Mrs. Claus. Sally loves getting children and adults off their feet while laughing, singing, and having a joyful time.

Today, Sally continues to delight her audiences with each performance. When she is not in costume, Sally enjoys spending time with her family, including two children, seven grandchildren, and one great-granchild.

Nicki Ramshaw

Nicki Ramshaw has enjoyed being in the teaching field since 1999. She earned a Master's of Arts in Teaching and holds an EEC Director license. She loves engaging children through active participation and a lively environment.

Nicki is also a member of the Board of Directors at Needham Community Theatre, and performs in shows. Her most recent plays include Much Ado About Nothing, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Little Princess. When she is not teaching or on stage, NIcki can be found snuggling up with a good book and her two young children, Lily and Josh.
